Technology often means taking something from nature — through the extraction of metals, power generation or road construction. Proway turns the question around: how can we use our technology to help nature instead?
The idea
Thinking nature and technology together.
Technology often means taking something from nature so that society can benefit. Under the slogan "For a safe and better future", we reflected on how nature and technology can be brought together. The first step was a change of mindset — and the result: we must give a good portion of what we have taken back to nature. That is how the project to plant a Proway Forest of the Future was born.
The forest
A contribution that grows.
With our Proway forest, we are not only making a statement but actively shaping the future. To be able to speak of a true forest of the future, we have planted 15 different tree species — including katsura, giant sequoia and tulip trees alongside oaks and beeches. In a few years, our forest will be transformed into a park. We not only tend and protect it, but also create a green and healthy environment for future generations.
Gamma technology
Supporting the forest with digital tools.
With the Gamma-Zauberwürfel sensor box developed by us, the habitats of animals and plants can be tended and monitored. The sensors used report values such as temperature, air pressure, the electrical conductivity of the soil, air quality and much more. Based on this data, we assess the vitality of our forest and can intervene actively in the event of insect infestation, drought or growth disorders.
